Boat Tips

When you wakeboard it’s really important to have a good boat driver, the driver should know how to drive straight and maintain speed, driving really affects the wakeboarder when trying to do tricks.

Here are some tips about boat driving:

Boat Speed: it is recommended to drive for beginners from 18-20 knots but if you are intermediate level or advanced you can increase up to 24 knots or even more.

Boat Ballast and Weight: having a lot of people in the back of the boat puts all the weight or ballast in the back of the boat, which is not good, the weight should be distributed by 60% in the back and 40% in the front of the boat. Make sure that the weight is equal on both sides (right – left), and if you have people sitting on one side make sure they sit in the right place.

Turning Around: the best way to turn around when you are pulling a wakeboarder behind you is not to make waves from your own boat!! Look at the lines....

Avoiding Other Boats: sometimes you will see other boats coming toward your boat, the best and right way to avoid the other boat is to turn to the left and the other boat should turn to the left too.
